Welcome to the three-cushion world championship for nation teams in the Festhalle Viersen, which takes place for the 29th time in Viersen.
From 22nd to 25th February 2018, the international top players will meet here for their most important tournament – the family spirit, the enthusiastic audience and the extraordinary atmosphere make these four days a wonderful billiard event. Top teams fight highly concentrated and captivating for the title. So we can look forward to an outstanding sporting event in Viersen! I wish all our guests a lot of fun with this fascinating sport.
I welcome the top athletes from all over the world and their families, the coaches, the supervisors, the referees and the official representatives of the billiard sport and I look forward to seeing you again.

Dear Sports Friends,
2018 is starting off with good news, the World Championship National Teams Event, from 22nd to 25th February, will be played in Viersen, not only as it has been for the past 28 years, but also with a double increase in the prize money, and with the best 16 teams representing all Confederations, without “B” Teams!
With uncertainty surrounding the event over the last years it is with the hard work of the Viersen City Hall and the DBU that we have succeeded in keeping the tournament in its home “Festhalle Viersen”, for this year and hopefully for more years to come!!
I wish Mr. Helmut Biermann, DBU President, quick and safe recovery, and for the Organizing Committee all success!
Once again, we will all have the pleasure to meet up in this quaint, historical city, looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Dear ladies and gentlemen,
dear sports friends,
a very warm welcome to all players, officials and fans to this years 3-Cushions Team-World Championships in Viersen. I am very happy that this event will be played for the 29th consecutive time here in Germany. Unfortunately I will not attend personally you to illness.
From 22nd to 25th of February the whole world of billiards will look to Viersen/Germany. 16 teams from four continents will join the championships. The top favorites will probably come from Korea as the title holders, Belgium, France and the Netherlands. Hopefully also the German duo will have a chance for a medal. Exciting matches are guaranteed anyway.
Many thanks to the city of Viersen and the sponsors for their support. My special thanks goes to the organization, the tournament directors, the referees and the countless volunteers who are all together responsible for the preparation and the succesful excecution of the 3-Cushions World Championships.
I wish all participants a successful tournament and all our guests a beautiful stay in Viersen. We are all looking forward to 3-Cushion Billiards as its best.
