Herzlich Willkommen zu DER Billard-Europameisterschaft 2019.
Bereits zum vierten Mal wird sich die komplette europäische Billard-Gemeinschaft in Brandenburg an der Havel zum größten internationalen Billard-Turnier, organisiert von der CEB, treffen. Nach dem großen Erfolg der ersten drei Veranstaltungen freuen wir uns, auch in diesem Jahr wieder prestigeträchtiges Spitzenbillard von Männern und Frauen, Junioren und Teams in allen Disziplinen präsentieren zu können.
Die diesjährige Veranstaltung hat mit seinen insgesamt 18 auszuspielenden Titeln, über 500 Athleten und Athletinnen, 21 Nationen, 60 Schiedsrichtern und insgesamt elf Spieltagen nochmals an Wichtigkeit zugelegt.
Besonders erfreuen mich die Neuigkeiten, denn so kehren beispielsweise die Damen zurück nach Brandenburg an der Havel und messen sich im Dreiband mit 24 Spielerinnen, und darüber hinaus auch noch in der Freien Partie. Ganz neu und mit Spannung erwartet werden der Biathlon-Wettbewerb der U21-Mannschaften sowie die Demonstrationsturniere im Eurokegel und im Dreiband für Rollstuhlfahrer. Abgerundet wird das Ganze durch einen weiter optimierten Zeitplan.
Nicht möglich wäre solch ein großer Event ohne die Unterstützung der Stadt Brandenburg an der Havel, der Mittelbrandenburgischen Sparkasse, dem Land Brandenburg, den Stadtwerken und allen anderen Sponsoren. Mit dem Stahlpalast und dem daneben ansässigen Axxon Hotel haben wir zudem wieder die perfekten Rahmenbedingungen. Ihnen allen gilt unser großer Dank.
Wie gewohnt, wird die komplette EM auch in diesem Jahr wieder weltweit durch unseren Partner Kozoom live zu verfolgen sein. Darüber hinaus gibt es erstmals eine Übertragung auf Eurosport. Für die täglichen Presseberichte und aktuellen Fotos zeichnet einmal mehr das Team des Billardmagazin Touch verantwortlich.
Wir haben alles getan, damit sowohl die Athletinnen und Athleten, die Sponsoren und natürlich auch die Zuschauer ein außergewöhnliches Turniererlebnis haben werden.
Vor Ort hat erneut Helga Blawid mit ihrem immensen Einsatz und Enthusiasmus sowie dem Team der CEB mit Johny Houtsch als EM-Koordinator ein Billard-Turnier der Extraklasse auf die Beine gestellt.

Dear organizers of the European Billiards Championships 2019, dear participants, dear friends and supporters of billiards,
Once again this year Brandenburg an der Havel welcomes the elite of European Billiards in our sports-loving city. For the fourth time in a row the Confédération Européenne de Billard (CEB) has invited the best players on the continent to Brandenburg an der Havel to fight for the titles at the European Championships for all carom disciplines.
My big thanks goes especially to the organizers. Together with many volunteers and supported by sponsors the team headed by Helga Blawid once again succeeded in optimally preparing for this top-class international sporting event. With all their strength and enthusiasm, it was ensured that the participants will find perfect conditions in the Stahlpalast from April 25 to May 5. Also the spectators can follow the exciting European Championships either directly on site or via livestream.
I‘m sure that Brandenburg and the numerous billiards fans from near and far will again prove to be an expert and fair audience. This will also underpin our reputation as a cosmopolitan and hospitable sports city.
I wish all participants good luck and our guests a pleasant stay in Brandenburg on the Havel.

Dear organizers of the European Billiards Championships 2017, Dear EC-participants, Dear friends and supporters of billiard sports,
We, the citizens of Brandenburg, are very happy to once again welcome Europe’s billiard elite in our keen on sports city this year. For the third time already, the Confédération Européenne de Billard (CEB) invited the top players from its member states to a united European Championships for all carom disciplines and age classes to Brandenburg an der Havel.
The big successes of the title bouts from previous years not only proved the accuracy of the pioneering and sustainable concept of this big international billiards event. Furthermore the voluntary organizers and helpers with their gained experience from previous years will do anything to turn this year’s Championhip into another success for athletes and spectators alike.
I am well aware of the fact, that there’s not only a large number of active billiards players in our city and the surrounding area, but also a vast amount of people passively following this thrilling sports through the media with great interest.
They all are invited to visit Brandenburg an der Havel to follow the decisions of this year’s European Championships live up close. Enjoy the great atmosphere at the “Stahlpalast”, which will be redesigned again with great effort into a competition arena of the highest technical standards. Let yourself be entertained by fantastic performances of Europe’s billiard stars and help to ensure that the athletes can look forward to full spectator ranks. Let your visit help making Brandenburg meet its reputation as cosmopolitan and sports enthusiastic city.
My great appreciation goes to all those who have committed themselves to the preparation of the European title bouts in the last months and who work all day during the EC-days to ensure that the competitions run smoothly, that the athletes, coaches and referees are well accommodated and catered, and that the spectators can follow thrilling decisions. I want to thank the companies and institutions who contribute to mastering the enormous personal and material efforts as well as financial expenses, which these days are part of a sports event of this magnitude.
I wish all the best to all participants, great success to the organizers and a pleasant stay to all our guest from near and far in Brandenburg an der Havel.
