Welcome to THE 2019 European Championship.

For the 4th time the whole European Billiards Community will meet in Brandenburg an der Havel for the largest international carom competition organized by the CEB. After the great success of the first 3 editions, we are once again presenting a prestigious event where men and women, youth, elite and teams in all disciplines meet together to celebrate European billiards.

This edition will be even more important than in 2017 with 18 European titles awarded, more than 500 athletes, 21 nations, 60 referees and 11 days of competition.

I am very happy with the novelties of this year: The return of women‘s competitions, 3 Cushions with 24 participants and Free Game. Furthermore a new competition for the juniors, Biathlon Team U21. Two demonstration tournaments, Eurokegel and Wheelchair 3-Cushions and last not least an optimization of the timetable.

Without the support of the City of Brandenburg an der Havel, the Mittelbrandenburgische Sparkasse, the state Brandenburg, the “Stadtwerke” and all the others sponsors it would not have been possible to carry out this event. Therefore, I would like to thank them most sincerely.

With the Stahlpalast and the AXXON Hotel we have again a perfect environment for competitions.

All matches will be broadcasted worldwide by our partner Kozoom and we will also have a Eurosport broadcast for the first time. The team of Touch Magazine provides media with press release and
pictures on a daily basis.

We have done everything possible to ensure that athletes, sponsors and spectators experience an exceptional event. This is achieved thanks in particular to Helga Blawid, her immense work, her unfailing enthusiasm and her team on site as well as Johny Houtsch, coordinator for EC and the CEB committee.

Greetings City of Brandenburg

Dear organizers of the European Billiards Championships 2019, dear participants, dear friends and supporters of billiards,

Once again this year Brandenburg an der Havel welcomes the elite of European Billiards in our sports-loving city. For the fourth time in a row the Confédération Européenne de Billard (CEB) has invited the best players on the continent to Brandenburg an der Havel to fight for the titles at the European Championships for all carom disciplines.

My big thanks goes especially to the organizers. Together with many volunteers and supported by sponsors the team headed by Helga Blawid once again succeeded in optimally preparing for this top-class international sporting event. With all their strength and enthusiasm, it was ensured that the participants will find perfect conditions in the Stahlpalast from April 25 to May 5. Also the spectators can follow the exciting European Championships either directly on site or via livestream.

I‘m sure that Brandenburg and the numerous billiards fans from near and far will again prove to be an expert and fair audience. This will also underpin our reputation as a cosmopolitan and hospitable sports city.

I wish all participants good luck and our guests a pleasant stay in Brandenburg on the Havel.
