Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
Dear friends of the sport of billiards,

Welcome to the Billiards Team World Championship in Viersen, which will be held for the 32nd time in a row in the Viersen Festhalle this year.

The 16 national teams from all over the world will ensure exciting competitions at the „Wimbledon of billiards“ and will once again captivate the spectators.

These World Championships are the most important tournament of the year in the international calendar of top athletes. In addition to defending champion Turkey, the team from the USA will also be competing this year.

Thus, teams from four continents will travel to Viersen to prove their skills in three-cushion, a type of carom billiards. Three-cushion is considered one of the most difficult billiard variations.

I would like to thank the German Billiards Union for their great commitment in organising this sporting event.

In addition to the sponsors and partners, I would like to express my special thanks to the numerous volunteers who, through their active support and personal commitment, make a decisive contribution to realising such an event.I wish all athletes and spectators exciting and successful competitions and a successful event.

The joy of play and precision, both professionally combined, are what we regularly experience in our Festhalle Viersen on the 12 by 14 metre stage.

Now we can finally watch this fascinating pairing again on the comparatively small, yet exclusive tournament surfaces of 1.42 by 2.83 metres in the Festhalle: Clear the stage for the Billiards World Championship, the world championship in three-cushion for national teams.

We welcome top athletes from around the world in Viersen, who use cues and brains to create fascinating caroms. As the host city, we naturally include the support staff and accompanying family members in our anticipation of the tournament.

My thanks go to the German Billiards Union for the proven and trustful cooperation in organising this multi-day event.

Viersen has been hosting the top event in billiards since 1990. Sixteen competing national teams will play on the tables from 9 to 12 March for the 32nd title that is to be awarded in this city.

Dear Billiards Lovers,

it is a great pleasure for all of us to be back in the heart of our beloved sport in „Viersen“. We are meeting in this picturesque town of Viersen now for the 32nd time to be able to attend the „35th Billiards World Championships National Teams Three-Cushion“, which will be held from 9th to 12th March 2023.

After the organisation of the event was marked by imponderables in the last few years due to the circumstances of the pandemic, due to the committed and diligent efforts of the city of Viersen and the DBU that the tournament can take place again in its home “Festhalle Viersen”.

It’s always a great pleasure for everyone, from players to officials and fans to come together again in this historical city; I look forward to seeing everyone there!

Dear friends of billiards,

a warm welcome to the 35th World Championship National Teams Three Cushion 2023.

I am pleased to welcome you as an athlete, official or simply as a billiard enthusiast to this prestigious competition, which will be held for the 32nd time in a row in the Festhalle in Viersen.

From 9 to 12 March 2023, the world of billiards will be looking at the 16 teams from four continents taking part in the title fights. Exciting matches are guaranteed anyway.

Many thanks to the city of Viersen and the many sponsors for their support. My special thanks go to the organisers, the tournament management, the referees and the numerous volunteers, who contribute significantly to the success of this event through their commitment in the preparation and implementation.
