Heyball Week in Germany

From August 21st to 27th, the Maritim Hotel in Bad Wildungen took the international spotlight: the new discipline Heyball was at the center of attention, increasingly establishing itself as a rising billiards sport in Europe, while already enjoying a strong following in Asia.

The week began with the German Championships, where Ricardo Gutjahr (Men) and Diana Stateczny (Women) claimed the titles. Their victories also secured them spots at the EPBF European Championship, the WPA European Open, and the JOY World Championship in Australia. In addition, Stateczny received a raw diamond worth €1,000, donated by PREMIO W. Johann GmbH.

The international competitions followed next: at the European Championship, Roman Hybler (Czech Republic) and Kelly Fisher (Great Britain) emerged victorious. Kelly Fisher went on to win the European Open in the women’s category just a few days later, while Stephen Ellis (Great Britain) claimed the men’s title.
