The duo Murat Naci Coklu and Lütfi Cenet won the gold medal for Turkey. In the final they defeated the Netherlands with individual world champion Dick Jaspers and his partner Raimond Burgman with 40:22 points.
The South Korean duo Sung Won Choi and Dong Koong Kang successfully defended their title from last year at the Three-Cushion Team World Championships in Viersen. In the final against the surprise team from Austria, the Asians won with 40:30 points after 23 innings.
